Escenario Santander: concerts, Rock Nights and club nights
Escenario Santander is not a club in the classic sense. It is a live music venue that can be set up as a concert hall, a club, a market or a cinema, and that versatility is why it appears in any serious list of where to go out in Santander. Here is how it works and when it makes sense for a night out.
Where it is
Escenario is at Avenida de la Constitución 27, in Parque de las Llamas, a short distance from the Sardinero beach. It is outside the old-town bar zones, so from the centre you need a taxi, the bus or a car. (Some directories give number 39; the venue's ticketing page gives 27.)
The venue
It holds about 1,000 people standing or 350 seated. Beyond the main room it has other multi-purpose spaces, a recording studio and its own podcast, and it describes itself as a cultural space with more than 150 events a year: concerts, festivals, comedy, corporate events and congresses. For a night out, what matters is that when it is set up as a club the room is large and well equipped for sound, as you would expect from a venue built for live music.
Club nights: Disco Flash and late sessions
Its party format is Disco Flash, which on Saturday 10 October was a Back to the 90s remember mix. The agenda also has late sessions such as Syncio, scheduled for 00:30 on Friday 30 October, and themed nights like La Santa Muerte for the Day of the Dead on 31 October. These are the dates when Escenario works as a club rather than a concert hall.
Rock Nights
Rock Nights is its cycle of rock concerts, usually on weekday evenings at 20:30: Matt Woods on 13 October, Riot in the Attic on 27 October, Great Fool on 24 November and Jo Jo & The Teeth on 8 December. It is a good midweek plan that leaves time for a drink afterwards.
UC Fest 2026
Escenario hosts UC Fest 2026, the Universidad de Cantabria welcome party for the new academic year, organised by the university and the venue. It takes place on 15 October from 13:00 to 21:00, with DJ Cheda and the bands Mordisco (17:00) and Modelo (19:00). Entry costs €3, or €6 with food, and you need to show your university card (TUI) at the door. It is an afternoon event, so it combines with a night in the centre afterwards.

Planning the night
Most concerts start between 20:30 and 21:30, so a concert at Escenario can be the first part of the night, with the centre or El Sardinero afterwards. On club nights, arrange the ride home before you start: with up to 1,000 people leaving together, taxis take time. Each event has its own ticket and conditions, including age, so check the details and bring ID.
