Malaspina Santander: music, hours and what the place is like
Malaspina is one of those Santander places that people describe with affection: a disco-pub that has been open for more than 20 years, with exposed brick, beams and a crowd that keeps coming back. It is not a big club and does not try to be. Here is what you need to know before going.
Where it is
Malaspina is on Pasaje Jesús Revaque Garea, 39003, in the centre of Santander. It is a short walk from Cañadío, the area local guides describe as having the most going on at night, and from the rest of the central bars. You can easily include it in a route on foot.
What music they play
The sources do not describe it the same way, and we think it is worth telling you both. FiestasHoy lists indie, rock, pop and selected sessions, and describes a bar where the night relies more on taste than on spectacle. Arrival Guides talks about local and international chart hits and a dance floor that gets crowded. Put together, the idea is clear: songs people know and sing along to, with a guitar-leaning taste, not reggaeton all night and not an underground electronic policy.
The place and the crowd
The interior is industrial: bare brick and beams. Guides describe it as a place with regulars and a taste of its own, and say people of all ages go, with gin and tonic as the usual order. That mix of ages is part of what makes it work: it is neither a student bar nor a place for one generation. If you are with a group of friends who do not agree on music, it is a safe middle ground.
Hours
FiestasHoy gives Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 23:00 to 4:30, closed the rest of the week. Arrival Guides gives a shorter Thursday, from midnight to 3:30. So at the weekend the hours are consistent; on Thursdays it is worth checking. Because it opens at 23:00, it works well straight after dinner.

Dress code and entry
Listings describe the style as casual with style, and there is no strict door code published. We have not found advance tickets for it; on busy nights there may be a wait at the door. Bring ID. For a large group, message us first with the date and we will tell you what to expect.
Where it fits in the night
Malaspina works as the middle of the night: dinner nearby, Malaspina from midnight, and then home or on to a club. If you want live music or a DJ with a specific name, Niágara on San Simón is close. If the group wants a club night in the centre, Pandora on José Ramón López Dóriga is open on Friday and Saturday until 4:30.

How we can help
We are a guide, not the venue, so we will not promise you a table that does not exist. What we can do is tell you what we know about a specific night, suggest a route around Malaspina depending on what your group wants, and help with tickets or lists at the clubs nearby if you want to carry on. Send us the date and how many of you there are on WhatsApp.
