Student Nightlife in Santander: UC Fest, Thursdays and Cheap Nights

The academic year has started, and in Santander that means the first big student date is this week. Here's what's on for students, which clubs open on Thursdays and how much a night out actually costs, with every price taken from the venue or its ticket page.

UC Fest 2026: Thursday 15 October at Escenario

UC Fest is the University of Cantabria's start-of-year party, organised with Escenario Santander and open to the whole university community. This year it's on 15 October from 13:00 to 21:00 at Escenario (Avenida de la Constitución 39, by Parque de Las Llamas). The line-up: DJ Cheda, Mordisco from 17:00 to 18:30 and Modelo from 19:00 to 20:30. Entry costs €3, or €6 with lunch, and you have to show your university card (TUI) at the door.

It finishes at 21:00, so the night carries on elsewhere. It's a Thursday, which leads to the next question.

It isn't a one-off. The 2025 edition was held on 9 October 2025 at the same venue and with the same hours, with tickets through the university's Me Apunto platform and the TUI checked at the door to control capacity. The university presents it as a way to welcome the new year and build a sense of belonging, so expect a lot of first-years.

Where to have the first drink

Before the clubs open, most student nights start in two places. Plaza Cañadío is where a lot of people have their first drink, chatting in the square before moving to nearby bars. Río de la Pila, where the 70s and 80s Marejada scene was born, is still popular with a young crowd and mixes modern and alternative bars. Both are a short walk from Niágara, Malaspina, Samoa and Ramé.

Which clubs open on Thursdays

If the plan is a Thursday, these are the venues whose listed hours include it:

VenueAreaThursday hoursMusic
NiágaraCañadío22:00–05:00Rock'n'roll, soul, funk, electronic
MalaspinaCentre23:00–04:30Indie, rock, pop
SamoaCalle Moctezuma22:30–03:30Not confirmed
Ramé Social ClubCalle Moctezuma22:00–04:30Not confirmed

All four are within walking distance of each other in the centre. What about Kudéta? Some listings include Thursdays and others don't, and we haven't been able to confirm a regular Thursday student night there for this year, so we'd rather not promise one. Its parties with the Roneo Club team are confirmed on weekends, for example "Kudéta Viernes by Roneo Club" on 25 September. Ask us which nights it opens the week you want to go.

Sala Kaya event ticket with a drinkFrom €10 (Halloween second tier: €13 + fees)

  • The list is the cheapest way in, but it's limited and closes early. Ask us to put you on it the same day, not at midnight.
  • Advance always beats the door: Niágara's Club Motel was €2 cheaper bought ahead, and Kaya's tiers go up as they sell.
  • Bring your ID. Kaya doesn't admit minors and some parties set a higher minimum age, so check before you pay.
  • Split a table. A Kaya box for six with a bottle was listed at €100–125 on regular nights, about €17–21 a head, close to a two-drink ticket (€18 + fees for Halloween).

Quick answers
